Jambo!

Welcome to Maranatha Christian Center!

We are very excited to have created this blog for all of you to see what God is doing here in Tanzania!

The new school year has started for Maranatha Mission School! There are over 300 students this year year. Ages ranging from the "baby class" (2-3) years old, to 7th graders. This school has been blessed with a very Godly and devoted staff. Along with the staff, there are some new faces this quarter:

South Korean Mission Team from Baek Seok University. This team will be at Maranatha from Jan 8th-Jan 16th. They will be doing Bible lessons, crafts, skits, dancing, singing, and fun activities for the kids every day at school. Also they will be out in the community witnessing and helping the church with their needs.

Richard Gerold, from Maryland who is teaching Christian Education, Sunday School, and Math. He will be here for the whole first quarter of school (3 months).

Sarah Darby, from San Diego, Ca, but currently going to Bible College in Belfast, Ireland. She has been teaching computer classes at Maranatha and will be here till January 20th.

Brooke Wittmayer, from San Diego, Ca, but currently living in Denver, Co. She is also teaching computer classes and will be for the duration of the quarter.

Flor Tejeda, a missionary from Honduras. She will be teaching Spanish and Christian Education to the students until March 4th, but she is trying to stay longer if it is God's will!

The goal of this Blog is to make known to people wherever they may be, the goals and vision of Maranatha Christian Center.

Eventually we will have an English page and Swahili page so that both cultures will be able to read it.

Prayer Requests:
-As of right now we have Maranatha (primary) Mission School, but the goal is to build a Maranatha (secondary) Mission School. We have the building, which is two stories, and are using it for the upper primary grades (4th-7th), but eventually we want the building to have five stories and put the primary school in one building and the secondary in another. There will be a team coming in August to help start the process of adding on.

-Pastor Eric and staff have a vision of starting an orphanage.

-That Pastor Eric’s house might be finished building. (It has been a long process and they deserve to have a complete home).

-Wisdom, strength, courage, perseverance, faithfulness, obedience, and motivation in the school and church staff and leaders!

-And last, that the vision of Maranatha will be spread throughout the world, and that God will always provide the funds to make it happen.

Thank you very much for your prayers and love. May God be forever with you!
